What does PowerTester differ from other tools?
Currently the only way of properly testing Power BI is by building a custom framework using Selenium. Selenium is a library that represents a browser as an object in code. A test automation engineer can build a test framework using Selenium and a collection of other tools to drive a browser and extract data from PowerBI. Selenium requires the engineer to provide it with selectors in order for it to be able to interact with components displayed in the browser, however Power BI is a dynamic application constantly undergoing change and therefore requires the test engineer to be mindful of these changes.
A Selenium framework requires a developer skillset to build it initially then maintain it as Power BI changes. It also requires infrastructure to run on, whether that’s a physical machine, a virtual machine, or containers in the cloud, this also costs money to build and maintain. With PowerTester you only have to manage your SQL scripts.
PowerTester does not drive a web browser, it uses APIs to extract and compare the data. Therefore PowerTester takes milliseconds where Selenium takes minutes.
Do you store my data?
PowerTester only extracts data that you specificy. No user data is ever used/stored for any purpose other than verifying the report. No data is sold or given to any 3rd party.
What sources are supported?
Currently PowerTester only supports SQL databases, accessible from the cloud.
However our roadmap includes building integration into a number of different sources including flat files, other cloud databases (e.g. Snowflake), Table storage and more!
What are the differences between the tiers

Can PowerTester integrate into CICD pipelines?
PowerTester have a number of REST APIs that be used to integrate into any DevOps platform.
